Basic information
The faculty’s print server is located at https://cups.mimuw.edu.pl.
The server enables using all publicly available printers in the building. The complete list of
printers can be found at https://cups.mimuw.edu.pl/printers/.
Students at the faculty can only use the printer dedicated to them.
The server will automatically reject all print jobs requested by the students.
Printer names
Each publicly available printer connected to the print server has its own unique URL.
Each printer name consists of:

the
lp prefix (historically, the prefix comes from the
line printer; the printing history at the faculty is quite long and most of
the users got used to the convention so we decided to keep it),

the number of the room in which the printer is located,

A single-letter suffix starting with
a (the suffix is used to
differentiate printers located in the same room).
For example, the first printer in room 4150 will be named lp4150a.
Complete and unique printer URL is comprised of the server’s name,
the printers path (the standard printers
path on the CUPS server) and the printer's name. Following the previous example,
the complete URL for the first printer in room 4150 will be named
https://cups.mimuw.edu.pl/printers/lp4150a.
