E-mail address
Each student is given three e-mail addresses. In quite rare cases, when an address containing a first and last name is already in use, it will not be given. The last form is always available.

It is possible to obtain a custom e-mail address, the so-called alias. In this case, please contact us at lk@mimuw.edu.pl.
Mail server and mailbox
The student mail server is students.mimuw.edu.pl. In the user's home directory you will find a folder named Mail , where message files are placed.
Access to mail
Student mail can be read using:
- WWW mail clients available from the addresses:
https://mail-students.mimuw.edu.pl/
The login is:xy123456without domain adress - aperating system applications, such as Thunderbird or Outlook (mail client configuration is described later in this document)
- in text mode on the
students.mimuw.edu.plserver using a text client, such asmutt
Mail client configuration
Recommended configuration:
- incoming mail: server students.mimuw.edu.pl , IMAP protocol port 993 , TLS encryption, authentication method - password;
- outgoing mail: server students.mimuw.edu.pl, SMTP protocol port 587, STARTTLS encryption, authentication method - hasło.
Below is an example of the configuration of the Thunderbird mail client: Thunderbird:
If you don't want a local copy of all messages, you need to edit Thunderbird's default settings by clicking on Create account and edit its settings. Then, under Synchronization, uncheck Store messages in all folders for this account locally on your computer.
